VIKIV company history

Although I was born in Budapest, my parents originally came from Baja, so I spent my childhood years exploring the Danube and its tributaries in Gemenc. Waters have accompanied me all my life – no wonder that as the manager of our company, I have always had a soft spot for river water engineering.

I began my technical studies at the Faculty of Technology of Eötvös József College in Baja in civil engineering, where following a successful state exam in the water management and water utilization track in 2000, I was contacted by a then dynamically developing and important Szeged-based company involved in structural and water engineering: SZEVIÉP Szerkezet- és Vízépítő Zrt. During my ten years with that company, I had the opportunity to take part – as a foreman, project supervisor, facility manager and eventually, chief engineer – in projects that presented me with unique challenges that proved quintessential experience in retrospect. I will present my work experience in more detail under “References” and “Previous work experience”. While working full-time, I obtained another degree in the same professional field in 2005 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Budapest University of Technology. In 2006, having left SZEVIÉP Zrt., I became a founding member, co-owner and executive of DOVI-Trade Kft. (still in the business today), and we won several significant projects, putting our company on a steady growth path.

In 2012, at the age of 33, longing for independence, with two specialized degrees and 12 years of professional experience behind me, I founded VIKIV Vízügyi Kivitelező Kft. The company seat was registered in Bogyiszló (also the home of our family), while the site was placed in Szekszárd. VIKIV Vízügyi Kivitelező Kft. is a company that specializes in water engineering, civil engineering, and massive mechanized earthworks anywhere in the country. The term VIKIV has been coined from Vízügyi Kivitelező Kft., that is, from “water” and “construction”. Our name choice reflects our efforts to capture the main profile of the company in a simple and easy-to-remember way. Today VIKIV can boast professional references which have earned us an honourable market share in our business sector.
